A co worker of mine has a book at work that I'll occasionally pick up, page through and read a few passages. The book, "The giant within" written by Tony Robbins originally published in 1991. it's'a pretty influential book, with examples at each chapter. Yesterday while paging through something that caught my eye . It was the chapter based on change, he highlights that we are responsible for our own change. He talks about steps to follow for successful change to occur, namely.
1. Something must change
2. I must change
3. I can change it
Each statement has resonated heavily with me and I'll tell you why
As some of you know I love going to the gym, I love the control I have over my body and able to push it each visit. There are classes I would attend as part of routine. Yet, yesterday I had noticed that one of the regular classes had changed from a strength-training class to Zumba. Now I don't have a problem with Zumba, but I don't prefer it. This change made me think. If we don't make a change, eventually everything around us will change.
